Facilities
All the residential buildings are bright and airy with provision for 24-hour water supply, and geyser facility.
The Half-Way Home
The Half-Way Home has the following facilities:
- The building accommodates 21 persons, men and women.
- Each room is spacious and has three beds with cupboard space.
- Each room has attached toilet and bathroom.
- The building has a quadrangle, which serves as a utility area.
- A recreation room where the residents have community meetings, group therapy activities, recreational activities like Television and games. Library is also located here.
- An Occupational Therapy room which is used for activities connected with occupational therapy like making greeting cards, candles , covers, etc.
- A newspaper reading room - the residents are given assignments on current affairs based on reading newspapers. This is also a part of the therapy.
- A Meditation room.

Navajeevan Hostel
Keeping in view the "therapeutic community" based rehabilitation, the following facilities are provided:
- The Navajeevan Hostel building can accommodate 12 persons, and presently is only for men.
- Each room is spacious and has three beds with individual cupboard space.
- The rooms have an attached toilet and bathroom area.
- A common dining area with a recreational facility is provided
Extended Care
- The Extended Care building can accommodate 8 persons, and presently is only for men.
- Each room is spacious providing two or three beds.
- Individual cupboard space is provided for each person.
- The rooms have an attached toilet and bathroom area.
- It also has a recreation room where the residents have community meetings, group therapy activities, and recreational activities like Television.
Guest Cottage
Our Guest Cottage is made available to the family members of the residents and those who come for interview at the time of admission. Family members must stay at least a week with a resident during the trial period after admission for facilitating adjustment in the new environment.
- The Guest cottage has two rooms with double bed space and one room with single bed.
- Common bathroom and toilet facilities are provided.
- Individual cupboard space is provided for each person.
- 24 hours geyser and water facility.
- A living room is provided for recreational and social activities.
- Food is provided on request.
Auditorium
- A multi-purpose hall is available where meetings, group activities like yoga are held and periodically cultural programmes by residents and staff are also held.
- It is an open space for games like badminton, table tennis and basket ball.
- Individual cupboard space is provided for each person.
- The hall can seat 150 persons at a time and is used for seminars and for community awareness programmes.
Training Center
- An apartment hall that can seat a maximum of 30 persons is available.
- It is often used for short-term courses for staff, students, caregivers and other trainees.
- Individual cupboard space is provided for each person.
- It is also available to outside organizations to conduct programmes which mesh with MPA policy.
Guest Room Facility
- There are three service apartments
- Two apartments have single bedroom with attached bathroom and toilets, and a kitchenette.
- Individual cupboard space is provided for each person.
- One apartment has facility for accommodating six persons in two bedrooms with attached bathroom and toilets, and a kitchenette.
Grievance Cell
Establishment of Grievance Cell at MPA:The term “Residents and Staff Grievance” refers to the Grievance at individual level, which has been faced on account of overlook by the administration. It refers to those kinds of actions / decisions taken by the Management which lead to the discontent and dissatisfaction on the part of residents and staff of MPA.
The formation of the Grievance Cell is to promote and maintain a conducive and unprejudiced environment where if there has been an infringement of their rights. It is a measure to develop responsive and accountable attitude among the management to ensure that, there is no laxity in terms of fair-deal with the aggrieved. It is to deal with the complex situations in a tactful manner to lessen the condition felt to be oppressive or dissatisfied.
Objectives of the Grievance Cell:
- To support, those who have been deprived of the services of MPA, for which he / she is entitled.
- To make Management of MPA responsive, accountable and courteous in dealing with the Residents and Staff of MPA.
- To ensure effective solution to the grievances of the residents and staff with an impartial and fair approach.
Functions:
- Redressal of Staff Grievances to solve their work and administrative problems.
- To co-ordinate between management, staff and residents to redress the grievances.
- To guide ways and means to the staff and residents to redress their problems.
The grievance procedure is a machinery to sort out the issues between staff, residents and the Management of MPA. It is a means by which is one believes that, he / she has been treated unfairly with respect to his / her affairs or is convinced to be discriminated can seek a hearing which will then be appropriately dealt with. It is a device to reach the level of settlement of a problem. It enables to express feelings by initiating and pursuing the grievance procedure in accordance with the provisions of this document. It involves a process of investigation in which ‘The Grievance Cell’ enquires and analyses the nature and pattern of the grievances in a strictly confidential manner. Matters are disclosed to only those, who have a legitimate role in resolving the matter. Emphasis on procedural fairness has been given with a view to “the right to be heard and right to be treated without bias”.
Final report based on grievance received and resolved will be submitted to the Managing Committee and as per direction of the Managing Committee further course of action will be decided and the same shall be intimated to the grieved.
The Working Committee of MPA will function as the Grievance Cell.
